Devil's Lake State Park This is the very popular picnic area at Devil’s Lake State Park near Baraboo, Wisconsin. Today there are plenty of picnic tables available with a great view of the lake. These tables are usually at a premium. If you want to picnic here in July or August, you must set up your area at dawn. There was just a small intense bit of light reflecting on the clouds directly over a section of the Baraboo bluff range that commands the southern horizon where I live. The light means that they are making snow at Devil’s Head Ski Resort. It’s 5 degrees this morning, a perfect night for making snow. As I gaze out at the spot lit cloudBirdfreak Day!
Today is the 2nd Anniversary of Birdfreak.com. It is hard to believe another year has passed. Here are some of the highlights from the “Birdfreak year”. Our feet are finally back on Canadian soil. The Lord blessed us with a solid vehicle, great road conditions, and amazing travellers!! We are staying with family for a week until we can sort out where we are going to live (it will be in Calgary). Don’t Worry! It does not look like this at Devil’s Lake yet. Actually this picture was taken on December 12th a couple of years ago when we decided to enjoy the first full-on snowstorm of the year with a paddle around the lake.
